One thing that I wanted to share is that the best time to visit Machu Picchu is in the early morning before the trains arrive and tons of tourists are hauled up to this sacred site in buses. If you stay overnight in Aguas Calientes, you can arrive in Machu Picchu at sunrise and have the entire place to yourself.

Another reason to visit early in the morning is that it often rains later in the day and the morning gives you your best photo opts with its ideal lighting.
